Well, here we are.
04:53pm 01/12/2004
Time, for what could most likely be the last post of this little dead community.

Is our beloved 38th dead? I think so, a visit to the site will show the lastest news is just about merch, and from June, also there are no tour dates, and no projected new album release.

This saddens me deeply, being a long time fan. I dont want to see this great band break up/dissapear.

if theres anything you guys can think of to find out whats going on post. God knows we need it.

Hey! This is the old courtneythegirl.
Man, it's been forever and a few days since I've been around.
I guess I'm a lousy moderator. I just wanna thank Paul for the help getting this community back to something good.

Anyway, just thought I'd make an update. For those of you that don't know, I am good friends with the band. I hear all sorts of stuff. Things I can say and things I can't say. lol

Latest news is that the guys had a meeting with the record label to get things to change (if you haven't noticed, the tours suck and they're not doing a whole lot for how talented they are and surely not getting enough radio play). They're now under new management and booking and will soon be doing some amazing things and hopefully if all goes well with the new support.... you'll be hearing the guys a lot more often. Things are no longer allowed to suck.

I'm really happy for them, and I know they could use all the prayers they can get. Thanks for being a fan and thanks for being so supportive. Right now, Mark told me something about how he thinks they're going to take a little time off to write new stuff and be back to touring like crazy boys in April. We can all look forward to that.

The blow’s been dealt and taken its toll Listless I stumble like a drunk in the cold Questioning foundations of a hope I took for granted I feel my soul choked by the rope of a slanted view of reality (So it seems) maybe I’ve been living in some childish day dream As not but dust in motion, an insignificant drop in an endless ocean Chorus So rend the veil, the shroud that clouds my eyes I want to see you, and every fiber of my being is longing for you Cut off at the knees, gasping for breath Grieving for my hope as it totters on the brink of death Watching the sun fade and run down As my ears go deaf to the ancient and thundering sound of creations singing I’m clinging so tight to my questions I can’t hear its chorus ringing Like some perpetual dancer I’m running and spinning in search of the answers Chorus In this fog of pain, creation plays its strain The wind breathes one name, star shines one fame

Well I really don't have a spectacular 38th Parallel story...I went to Cornerstone 2002 this past summer and saw them perform there...after that I was hooked on them...I went to their site, signed up for the newsletter, actually stumbled across an AOL screen name of Jeff the bassist, and chatted with him on several occasions...he doesn't use it anymore tho, it was "Ryno85"...but yeah...i hope they come to Cornerstone 2003 cuz i will be there..."So rent the veil, the shroud that clouds my eyes..I Want to see you"

..."I said no!"

I just can't let this community that likes my favorite newfound band just die!

Turn the Tides
Staring at the flames as they dance in red On the corpse of the land And there in they’re midst are wandering a countless unnamed Walking hand in hand Blind leading blind aimlessly into the quicksand’s of time where they sink On the brink of eternity cold and alone I shrink At the festering obscene corruption And my silence in the face of this mass destruction Chorus All rise, abandon your shadows and cut ties to your selfish pride Fix your eyes on the sun Get burned on the inside and turn these tides Closed minds ill equipped to deal with this madness Hearts far to hard to challenge a sadness that’s draining The soul of a generation Blanketed with tears are faces of nations Chorus Everyone laughs, everyone cries, everyone lives Everyone dies and in between they crawl Through stagnate realities longing to fly

  Hi everyone!
i joined this community awhile ago...but my life has been pure craziness this summer (if you're really interested or just really bored, feel free to check out my journal) anyway...so i never got around to introducing myself.
my name is jessie and i'm 19 and i live way out on the east coast in Virginia Beach, VA. i'm guessing you guys might wanna know my "38th Parallel story" LoL..its not really a story, i barely know the guys and they prolly don't even remember me...they came to play at my college this past may for SonFest. (mount vernon nazarene college in Ohio) since we were students, my friend and i volunteered to help out. so we ended up selling merchandise for a band i'd never heard of (38th) so we got to meet the guys and they ended up giving us some free pix and they were lots of fun and very sweet. we didn't even get to hear them play that day though cause their set was before our shift..so we promised them we'd get the cd when it came out. i didn't really expect to see it way out here in VA but i walked into the bookstore one day and there they were..in their own little display. i was pleasantly surprised. and even more so when i popped the cd in in the car...these guys are not only way cool guys but way cool musicians as well. they completely rock. i think i might have a few pix of the guys from that day. i'll see if i can figure out this scanner if ya think you'd use 'em for the new site.
anyway...so thats my story. i'm looking forward to getting to know all of you better! take care and God bless.....
